Statement from Dave Jones, Executive Director of HTIA, on the Introduction of the RESTORE Act

HTIA

WASHINGTON 2/26/25 – Dave Jones, executive director of the High Tech Inventors Alliance (HTIA), issued the following statement following the reintroduction of the Realizing Engineering, Science, and Technology Opportunities by Restoring Exclusive (RESTORE) Patent Rights Act:

"The Supreme Court got it right almost two decades ago with the unanimous eBay decision, which brought balance to the patent system. The RESTORE Act would upend that, giving patent trolls and foreign entities – like Chinese-backed firms – more power to  interfere with U.S. commerce and advanced manufacturers like chipmakers. The RESTORE Act is a gift to the litigation industry, not U.S. innovators and would undo vital clarity in patent law.”
