WASHINGTON – On June 12, 2025, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to advance the nomination of John A. Squires for Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Below is a statement from Dave Jones, Executive Director of High Tech Inventors Alliance (HTIA):
“We congratulate John Squires on his advancement through the Senate Judiciary Committee. HTIA will continue to advocate for a patent system that ensures high-quality patents, restores equitable access to PTAB proceedings, and protects innovators from abusive litigation.
